The Disclosure Scotland equivalent of Enhanced DBS is the PVG Scheme. This is a scheme whereby an Accredited Body (i.e. EBC Global) can submit PVG applications on behalf of customers whose candidates will be working with children or vulnerable adults in Scotland.
PVG is mandatory for regulated roles in Scotland. The scheme involves initial application by EBC, then the candidate is invited to complete an application form. Once this is done, Disclosure Scotland will process the PVG and provide Disclosure to the candidate. The candidate can then share this with their employer.
The PVG scheme continually checks for updates on the candidate's suitability to work with children and/or protected adults, until the candidate leaves the scheme.
The membership can be for Children or Protected Adults, or both. If the candidate's role and work with one of these groups changes, then an application to update the membership needs to be processed.
You can read more about PVG here
If have roles in Scotland that require PVG, please contact your account manager or Support for assistance and we can help you assess the eligibility and apply as required.
The information required to process PVG is:
- Employee full name
- DOB
- Employee email address
- Will the candidate work with children
- Will the candidate work with protected adults
- Position applied for
- Confirmation on if the position is voluntary
- 3 forms of ID, one must be photographic, and preferably verified IDVT carried out
- Client email address for sharing the PVG results
