Employment History Verification (EHV)

Our Employment History Verification (EHV) service verifies individual's employment status and history. 

This service verifies an individual's employment records. The check enables you to ensure that your employee or potential hire possesses valid employment history. 

Verification involves the candidate accessing their employment records through HMRC, including them consenting to sharing the details with you. 

The EHV check securely collects the following from HMRC: 

- Full 5-year tax history, including employment and social security payments

- Employer name(s) 

- Taxable income and tax paid for periods of employment 

- Start and End dates for periods of employment

- Verifies current address

- Validates National Insurance Number 

EHV can replace or supplement an employer's standard referencing process for employment verification.

The Journey

1. Candidate receives an invitation email containing a unique link. SMS is also sent regarding this

2. Candidate logs into their HMRC Government Gateway account

3. Candidate provides consent for the information on their 5 year PAYE employment history document to be shared

4. Verification is completed and report immediately available 

5. In PRO, you can view a side-by-side review of the candidate provided data and HMRC records. You can then choose to "Accept" EHV, which will create verified employment tiles for each employment confirmed via HMRC, meaning you can fully complete a 5 year timeline with one check! You can also choose to accept EHV or candidate-provided-data for individual references.
