EXAMPLE SCENARIOS: 


Melissa is a coach for an adult’s wheelchair basketball team. She does this weekly on an ongoing basis and the team is aimed mainly at wheelchair users. Enhanced DBS Check without a check of the Adults’ Barred List 


Danny is a care worker and attends to Denise who is living with dementia. He visits Denise at home daily to prompt her to eat and take her medication. He also prompts her to wash regularly and supervises. Enhanced DBS Check with a check of the Adults’ Barred List


William offers to do the shopping and run some errands for his elderly neighbour. William isn’t being employed to do this, he is just offering to help out his neighbour. Basic DBS Check 


Laura is a hospital porter who moves adult patients around hospital grounds. She works full time at the hospital, working at least 5 days a week. Enhanced DBS Check with a check of the Adults’ Barred List 


Daisy is a volunteer parent at a preschool who helps supervise the children but does not undertake any personal care. Daisy is always supervised when on the premises. Enhanced DBS Check without a check of the Children’s Barred List 


Sophie is one of the assistant coaches for an Under 16s basketball team. Sophie attends to help run training sessions with the team every two weeks. She has responsibility for training and instructing the children how to play and the rules of the game Enhanced DBS Check without a check of the Children’s Barred List
